Jackie Gage 3With a velvety voice that goes down like smooth wine, 23-year-old soul-meets-jazz singer Jackie Gage is a fast rising star in the Bay Area. It’s easy to be caught in her sound, with a grace and beauty that channels torch singers of decades past.

This San Jose native is an awardee of the inaugural Leigh Weimers Emerging Artist Award by the San Jose Rotary Club (July 2013) and GenARTS (August 2013), a 2014 Jazz Search West finalist—which awarded her performances at Yoshi’s Oakland, the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, and The Sound Room in Oakland—with notable past performances at the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest (2012, 2013), and multiple residencies at nationally recognized club Blackbird Tavern, among others. Her cutting-edge work champions ladies in the scene, both within her future funk side project The JurassiC, and in curating and hosting weekly female-focused artistic showcase Fatale.

Look out for this one; Gage is working on her debut album, Ladies, set for release in 2015, and will be touring across California with this new music.
