Artist’s Statement

House of Cards

I wanted to capture this moment of intimacy between these three, the anticipation and realisation of the top image followed but the more closed and subdued interaction. The relationship between the two main figures I find so engaging, they present this union to everyone and the first image shows that, they are together, same height, similar lighting, both looking towards the other darker forground figure. I tried to use the third figure as a catalyst to show the strength of both between the other two. These screen caps enforced the idea.
